The English Language Laboratory, which comprises computers and other audio video equipment, was established in January 2007. Self-learning software such as Study skills success, It’s your job and Road to IELTS are installed in the computers and the students are free to use the facilities for self-study to enhance their knowledge of English.

It is an annual event organized by the Department of English Language Teaching to enhance the capabilities as well as the talents of the First Year students of the Faculty at the end of the Intensive English programme.

Talent show is an annual event of the faculty organized by the Department of English Language Teaching with the participation of all the students in the faculty. It creates a wonderful platform for students to showcase their talents and the students studying in various disciplines are never indolent of taking part in the Talent Show which gives a boost in promoting their latent talents and gaining soft skills. The Department of English Language Teaching organizes competitions including Speech Competition, Spell-master Competition, Mini-drama Competition, Debate Completion and Essay-writing Competition in parallel to the Talent Show and the winners are awarded with certificates and medals. Also, the participants in the competitions are awarded with the appreciation letters.

Mindspark is an English e –magazine published by the Department of English Language Teaching bi-annually with an e-ISSN to improve the students’ writing skills in English. Both the academic staff members and the students are given the opportunity to publish their short reports, essays, articles, short fiction, poems etc. in the magazine.
