The Information and Communication Technology Unit, (ICT Unit) of the Faculty of Agriculture caters to both students as well as staff members of the faculty. It functions under the supervision of the Dean of the faculty. ICT Unit consists of a local area network of around 50 computers and laptop computers. The ICT unit maintains the whole network of the faculty which enables free internet access for students and the staff. It maintains a local area network to facilitate all the staff and the students with free internet access via wired as well as a wireless network throughout the faculty covering the hostel area too.
The unit offers two ICT courses (ICT I – IT1101, ICT II -IT1201) for undergraduates during their first academic year.
Students are allowed to use computer facilities for data analysis in their final year research projects as well as computer applications in the other subjects offered by the departments such as Computer Programming, Engineering Drawing and Land Survey, Experimental Methods in Agricultural Research and GIS.
ICT unit provides its service to all the departments and other units including lecture halls in the faculty. All the audiovisual arrangements of the faculty events will be organized and arranged by the ICT unit. Moreover, all the online programs will be monitored by the ICT unit including the faculty Management Information System (MIS) and Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS is administered, and the faculty websites are maintained by the ICT unit.
