The Department of Agricultural Engineering & Soil Science, is highly dedicated and committed to realize the vision of the faculty that is to be a dynamic, innovative and renowned center for excellence in Agriculture. This Department offers courses on different fields to produce competent and innovative graduates with a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of Agricultural Engineering and Soil Science in order to contribute confidently to optimize land use, manage natural resources and improve farm machinery in the country.
With the inception of Faculty of Agriculture in Year 2001, Department of Soil and Water Resources Management was started and in Year 2014, it was renamed as Department of Agricultural Engineering & Soil Science. Presently, it offers courses and conduct researches on soil science, water management, farm machinery and energy and waste management related aspects. Department offers twelve courses of soil science, water management and farm machinery aspects on core program. Apart from that, the department offers two specialization modules as Environmental Soil Management and Agricultural Engineering with twenty seven courses on advance program. Students should select a research project as a part of advance program according to their preference. The department consists with a highly qualified academic staff as well as qualified technical staff. We are equipped with required resources and laboratory facilities which helps the students to improve their skills and knowledge in a competitive manner. Department provides analytical facilities (plant, soil, water and fertilizer) for farmers, agencies and researchers at reasonable rates.
